I had a very exhausting day. I needed to get quite a lot of things completed after being outside the workplace for a day. Yesterday, I was sent to a Fire Safety Awareness Training by our company, together with four other people from the various divisions. Each group designated one individual to be present at the said training. I was the person chosen to represent the administration unit.
The company decided that we needed this awareness training, in connection with the incident that happened in our office pantry two weeks ago. We had a little fire inside the office pantry and they suspect it was the coffee maker that triggered the fire. It was a relief that the damage to the office was only minor, but this prompted our bosses to have an emergency meeting and come up with a plan to prevent such type of incidents from happening in the future and to educate all the departments on the things that they should do the next time a fire emergency happens – seems like we were all going to get some health and safety training. In my opinion, not a moment too soon – this is crucial for any business.
As the representative chosen for our section, I will in turn communicate to my co-workers all the things that was done} to us during the fire safety awareness training two days from today. So I am as well preparing sort of a little presentation to utilize during that day. Tough task for me but somebody has to do it and sad to say it was me.
On the positive side, it also is a confidence booster on me that my supervisor has faith in me on this. For me that only means he has faith in the abilities that I possess to assign it to me. I just hope I still have plenty of energy to carry on the rest days of the week.
