The Social Security Administration (SSA) has created the Social Security Number Verification System (SSNVS), an online system that offers employers free Social Security verification for new employees. Employers can verify the numbers and names employees give to employers match and are correct on their W-2 forms when hiring someone for a career opportunity.

To learn more about this free Social Security verification system, keep reading.

The Enumeration Verification System for Employers

For employers, the service is free. The service is free, but employers must be registered with a valid ID, which is issued by the Social Security Administration. To register, visit ssa.gov/bso/bsowelcome.htm. Employers can get instant, online results for up to 10 employees at a time.

Using E-Verify for All Hiring

E-Verify (formerly known as Basic Pilot) is a free online-based tool that lets employers conduct employment verification checks of new employees with the Social Security Administration and all DHS databases.

Basically, an employer has up to three days after hiring a new employee for a job to run a check on their name, Social Security number and eligibility for employment. By doing so, they are granted immunity in the event that the employee is illegally working in the United States. Considering the service is free, the potential legal benefits are massive.

Though running regular E-Verify checks on all new hires is an essential part of protecting yourself legally, employers must sill be diligent and responsible. A good employer will aggressively hunt down Social Security fraud and potential abuses by checking the origination of certain Social Security numbers and verifying a photo identification.

The Enumeration Verification System for Lenders

Loan companies are also often prey to instances of Social Security number fraud. This system allows lenders to input a loan applicant’s Social Security number and name. After processing the request, they will receive a “no match” or “match” which will show if the Social Security number is correct.

This verification service is run through third-party vendors and is not free. However, it’s a critical tool for verifying identity and preventing fraud.

If you’re searching for free Social Security verification tools, your only option is with the Social Security Administration or through a lender’s vendor. To conduct Social Security number checks, you must be registered with the SSA as an employer and have the proper signed documentation from your new hires.

Given that this web service is free, it is only to the advantage of a hiring organization to avail itself of the tool.

Looking for a job used to be a full time job in itself. Thankfully due to today’s technological options and the Internet, it is no longer as difficult as in the past.

Applicants have become adept at job searching, and employers in turn have become proficient about listing their jobs in numerous places so they are easy to find.

Utilizing Job Listings

However, as an employer you still need to be able to make the most of job listings to stay organized and draw the types of applicants you hope to eventually hire.

As an employer, it is your job to get the word out about the job availability. The most efficient means of doing that is to create a job listing for your target audience to easily find.

Make the Listing Clear

Your listing should be direct and to the point, but also offer incentives to the prospective employees who read them. Instead of just telling them about the company, you are better off also including the range of salary you are offering and a sampling of benefits that come with the overall package.

If there is a sign-on bonus, you should definitely include that in the listing because it will help draw potential employees to the career opportunity.

Points of Emphasis

In the listing itself, there should be a few very specific key points about what the job entails. Being vague will only attract applicants who are unsure of what you actually do; after the interview they may not even be interested in the job at all.

Hence, it is better to clearly delineate the job responsibilities to disengage from the outset any people who are not truly interested. Describe the job in simple details providing a good description without making it seem overwhelming and causing potential legitimate candidates to turn away.

Where to List

Finally, list the job in as many reasonably priced but heavily-viewed options as you can. That includes the newspaper, job web sites, and even on free listing directories such as Craigslist.com.

Listing the job on your own company web site is also another great alternative since many existing employees might be searching for new opportunities themselves. You never know where you will find your next great employee, so take advantage of all simple options to get the word out everywhere you can.

The more quality you invest in writing the listing and subsequently advertising it, the more likely you are to uncover an employee who will be a great fit for your company.

Are you looking for a new career in construction project manager jobs? Here is a place to start for some great background information about the career path.

Project management is the practice of planning[/c] organizing[/c] and managing resources to see a project through to its successful completion. (A project can be defined as a specific[/c] finite undertaking with specific start and end dates[/c] which is undertaken to create a unique service or product). This is very different from a process[/c] which is usually an ongoing[/c] repetitive type of work. There is a big difference between the two!
The most difficult aspect of project management is to hit all of the projects goals and objectives[/c] while keeping the project within scope[/c] up to predefined standards of quality[/c] on time[/c] and on (or preferably under) budget. The project manager must optimize all aspects of the project to use resources such as money[/c] people[/c] materials[/c] energy[/c] space[/c] and communication to meet the projects goals and objectives.

A project manager or someone working Engineering Manager Jobs does not generally participate directly in activities that help meet the end result of a project[/c] but acts more as a manager or coordinator[/c] to maintain the momentum of the project and facilitate communication between parties to ensure that the project does not fail. They must be highly adaptable[/c] as every client will have a different set of internal procedures[/c] and they must be capable of forming close connections with everyone involved in a process. Vision is also important- a project manager needs to be able to see the whole project from start to finish and ensure that that vision is reached. Many[/c] many different products or services are brought to bear by project managers- everything from pharmaceuticals to vehicles an buildings[/c] from financial services to software has likely been overseen by a project manager at some point.
A project manager is responsible for analysis of objectives[/c] planning[/c] risk management[/c] estimating resource use (and allocation of resources)[/c] organizing the work[/c] acquiring resources (human beings and materials)[/c] assigning and directing tasks[/c] tracking and reporting on progress[/c] forecasting future trends[/c] quality management[/c] change control[/c] project closure[/c] and most importantly[/c] communication with everyone involved in every aspect of the project[/c] from start to finish.
Project managers used to really just be glorified construction project foreman[/c] however[/c] in the late 20th century the project management field has grown into its own specialty. Recently[/c] several trade associations within the US have come together to begin forming a common set of qualifications to determine what makes a project manager “competent” so that people working Project Manager Jobs have a standard to live up to.
